The Parkala police today registered a case against YSR Congress Party Candidate Konda Surekha on the charge of allegedlydistributing money to the voters in the assembly constituency where the bypoll will be held on June 12. According to police, Ms Surekha, while conducting door-to-door campaign in Narlapur Village,hadallegedly distributed Rs 500 cash each alongwith pamphlets to several voters. Police said investigation has began on the issue. Meanwhile, Telangana Rashtra Samithi had petitioned to Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal against Ms Surekha who was caught on camera while distributing the money to the electorate. The TRS representatives appealed to Mr Bhanwarlal to disqualify Ms Surekha from contesting the by-poll. They also said the YSR Congress Party had already distributed huge quantities of liquor, cricket kits and sarees in the assembly constituency.
